Wordle but sudoku

A shared daily sudoku you play by swapping tiles. No timer. Your score is how few swaps you needed to complete the puzzle.

If you play Wordle, you know the shape of the game: one puzzle a day, the same one as everyone else, then a number you can mention, maybe even brag about, later. Swudoku is that ritual on a 9×9 sudoku grid. The name is swap plus sudoku.

A short daily ritual

Most people finish a board in about 3–5 minutes, long enough that you have to look at the grid and short enough to fit before something else. Everyone gets the same puzzle that day, so you can compare swap counts with whoever you play with. Signed-in finishers may also see a How you compare histogram across all known players.

Score is the swap count. Lower is better, and nothing is timing the taps.

The board is already full

The numbers are in the wrong places. You tap two tiles and they swap, and you keep going until every row, column, and 3×3 block holds 1–9 once each. A Double Swap puts both tiles in the correct cell in one move, which is how the lowest and best scores happen.

Grey tiles still need to move. Yellow, green, and dark green are already home. The tap-by-tap and the colours live in how to play.

Play on the web or in the iOS app. Same account syncs game stats both ways. Archive of past days is on the web when you’re signed in. iOS is today’s board only.
