Swap Sudoku vs classic sudoku

A shared daily sudoku you play by swapping tiles. No timer. Your score is how few swaps you needed.

Classic fill-in starts with empty cells. Swap Sudoku starts with a completed 9×9 that has been jumbled. Same 1–9 rules. The move is a swap. The name is swap plus sudoku.

Same 1–9 rules

Every row, column, and 3×3 block still wants 1–9 once each. You already know that shape.

In classic sudoku you pick a blank and write a number. Here every cell already has a number. You tap two tiles and they trade places, and you keep going until the jumble is a valid grid again.

Swudoku is the daily 9×9. One shared board for everyone that day. Most people finish in about 3–5 minutes. That is the ritual.

The board is already full

Nothing to type or pencil: tap a grey tile, tap another, they swap.

A Double Swap puts both tiles in the correct cell in one move. Scan two greys and ask whether they want each other’s cells. Those are the cheap scores.

Colours tell you what still has to move. Grey is the wrong cell. Yellow, green, and dark green are already home. The tap-by-tap lives in how to play.

Score is the swap count

Score = swaps. Lower is better. Speed does not enter it.

If you’re signed in after a finish, you may see How you compare: a histogram of swap counts for that puzzle.

Play on the web or in the iOS app. Same account syncs game stats both ways for games you played. Archive and past days are web + signed-in. iOS is today’s board only.
